Honouring the Soul of my friend Norval Morrisseau 1931 - 2007

Well good morning to each and everyone around the world. Today Dec. 4th, was the day that Norval passed on to what we like to call as "Anishinabe"  - "The Big Lodge in the Sky".  Many of us sure do miss Norval Morrisseau, but he still comes around to visit with some of us in our dreams, our visions, our prayers and our ceremonies. It's like that with the spiritual, they may not be here physically, but the spirit of our ancestors are still "moving and shaking" on those "spirit planes". We must always be thankful and grateful for the incredible legacy left behind in his authentic and original art works. They do indeed: Live On! Thank you for everything Norval….with love and appreciation, MAJ

Pictured here: Both Norval and my works being exhibited together at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics, title of piece I did: Roy Thomas & Norval Morrisseau who art in heaven - holy be thy names.

In the celebration of Norval's life and creative energy please do enjoy this track….it's hoppin and it's grooves are something that inspire me greatly. I paint to a lot of tribal electronica…one of my favourite forms of music. The energy in this track is wicked. This one's an absolute classic from hard floor…enjoy!

For the Love of Norval Morrisseau, his art, his life, and most importantly….his Legacy!

Good morning everyone, the season of Christmas is upon us…and a festive spirit it is. I certainly wish each and everyone a spirit-filled time of happiness. On another note, I found this incredible video by Metallica - track title: One, from the album: And Justice For All. It speaks volumes to the truth about the art and legacy of Norval Morrisseau, and the various other issues associated  with his art. In time…you'll come to understand why…and with that….have a Merry Christmas and a happy new year!

P.S: And remember?
